2026 could be the year of AI in the transport industry

This reflects growing confidence that AI is moving from experimentation into everyday use. The findings suggest the industry increasingly views AI as a practical tool for improving efficiency, reducing costs, and supporting sustainability.

Smart tacho rules for vans in enforcement from July

Fleet operators are being reminded that from July 2026, vans over 2.5 tonnes used for international hire and reward work must be fitted with second-generation smart tachographs. The rule applies to vehicles involved in international transport or cabotage. We urge operators to prepare now, as similar requirements have already applied to HGVs over 3.5 tonnes since August 2025.
